Animals like dog also have a sense to protect its cub. That sense is visible amongst the lower animals. For example on animals having such sense of protection, “Once in Kanpur when we were sitting within the room, we saw one monkey playing outside the window and she had her child. So somehow or other while playing, that child monkey entered into our room through the railings and the mother remained outside. The mother monkey became so mad how to get the child. It was crying to get back its child from inside. And when we pushed the child out of the room she immediately embraced and carried its child happily. This kind of affection is visible everywhere. Even in the birds, beasts, animals, lower animals, big animals, the same affection is there. If you strike one crow, then thousands of crow will gather: “Caw. Caw. Caw.” You may have seen? In India if you have done any harm to any crow then all the crows will come together to attack you. Although such sense of feeling is good but it does not make sufficient to be a complete human being.
Human being should develop that feeling to protect their dependants from the cycle of birth and death by becoming the devotee of the lord.
